Practicing the Present Progressive

Hello, Students! Today we will practice speaking using the present progressive tense. We will also do some writing and another activity in class. 

Conversations (Practice out loud)

A:  What is John doing?

B:  He’s making dinner.

A:  What is Bob doing?

B:  He’s cutting the grass.

 

A:  What are you doing?

B:  I’m speaking English.

A:  What’s Anjie doing?

B:  She’s listening to the students.

 

A:  What’s Judy doing?

B:  She’s listening to music.

A:  What’s Marcy doing?

B:  She’s watching TV.

 

A:  What are the children doing?

B:  They’re playing soccer.

A:  What are those people doing?

Talking About Family

 This week we will review words for family and learn about action verbs in the present continuous tense. We will also learn how to make questions that begin with the word "What".

 Summary from Week 1 from Teacher Anjie

1. We reviewed days of the week, letters for spelling, and numbers.

2. We did Unit 1, Lessons A & B. We reviewed pronouns as possesive adjective and wrote some sentences about people we know. 

Example: My friend is Patty. Her dog is black. Her car is red. Her school is great. 

We also remembered to use capital letters and periods in our sentences. 

3. Homework was to do Lessons A & B in the workbook. pp. 6,7, 8 9. 

3. We read our story, "Hawaiian Vacation" in the True Stories book.


Words we practiced for meaning and pronunciation were:  - choose, joy, CPR, gone, in trouble, free, Schedule, clipboard, potted plant, and filing cabinet.
